Comparison between MOOC and traditional teaching mode

As a modern product of the combination of the Internet and education, MOOC has attracted worldwide attention because of its large scale, open curriculum, online learning, and convenient methods. The new open education model represented by the MOOC class has provided convenience for the educated, and has brought people closer to lifelong education. Some people even suggested that the MOOC should replace the traditional education. However, compared with traditional education, MOOC still has some shortcomings. This article analyzes the future defects of MOOC from the perspective of education and proposes feasible suggestions:
First of all, the scale of the MOOC will have an impact on multiculturalism.
The general meaning is that the multiplication of the MOOC is a mass production, and the mass production will lead to the unity of ideas and culture, and will have an impact on multiculturalism.
Secondly, the teaching mode is insufficient in cultivating students’ spirit of struggle.
It means that the MOOC cannot combine the students’ learning situation and knowledge level to make corresponding content adjustments, and there are insufficient deficiencies in students’ self-discipline and training spirit.
Finally, online teaching does not enable students to establish a systematic knowledge system.
The general meaning is that online teaching is fragmented teaching, not as systematic and coherent as traditional teaching.

There are many suggestions to solve these defects:

1. Helping disadvantaged cultures to establish content of motto and break the monopoly of education

2. The combination of traditional education and MOOC teaching

3. Students are the main subject of teaching, teachers are the leader, and then strengthen the network interaction
